about

Amos Lee’s new track “Dying White Light” is a powerful song set in Charlottesville during the tragic 2017 Unite The Right rally, written from the view of the wife of a participant trying to shield their kids from the hate around them. "We all watched the news when that stuff went down," says Lee of his inspiration. "I was crying.....I can't even comprehend how you can wake up with that much hate in your heart every day."

Though this track doesn’t appear on Lee’s new album, he decided to release the track to mark one year since that event. Proceeds from the track will benefit the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation and the Heal Charlottesville Foundation, organizations who provide dozens of grants focused on addressing the structural causes of racial inequities, biases and marginalization.
